DESCRIPTION:Choice Bank invites the community to Heroes for Hospice on Wednesday\, June 18\, 2025\, from 11:00am – 1:00pm! For a suggested donation of $10\, attendees will enjoy lunch provided by Marco’s Pizza and Red Pepper. There will be music\, games and local community heroes in attendance\, including fire and police departments\, healthcare workers and members of the armed forces. \nThe Heroes for Hospice fundraiser provides funding for HIA Hospice to offer end-of-life care for terminally ill patients and support for their families. As a local nonprofit\, independent\, community-based organization\, HIA Hospice provides care to anyone who meets the medical guidelines for hospice care\, regardless of insurance coverage or ability to pay. Lunch and Learns are held on the second Tuesday of January\, March\, May\, July\, September and November. \nUpcoming Session \nHospice of the Red River Valley’s upcoming Lunch & Learn session will be on Tuesday\, May 13\, from 12:00 – 1:00pm. Elizabeth Nawrot\, Ph.D.\, Certified Executive Coach and Dean of the College of Science\, Health and the Environment at Minnesota State University Moorhead\, will present “Recognizing Alzheimer’s: 10 Warning Signs.” \nAttendees will Learn: \n\nHow to identify common dementia warning signs.\nStrategies for discussing memory concerns.\nThe importance of early detection and diagnosis.\nAvailable tests\, assessments and Alzheimer’s Association resources.\n\nContinuing Education \nHospice of the Red River Valley is an approved provider of continuing education for social workers in North Dakota. This program will be awarded one Social Work Ethics CEU credit. \nLocation \nThis Lunch and Learn will be held virtually/online.
