DESCRIPTION:   \nGive to the Max started in 2009 as a one-time campaign to mark the launch of GiveMN.org\, Minnesota’s digital home for generosity. The results of that day—$14 million raised in just 24 hours—blew everyone’s expectations out of the water\, and a new Minnesota tradition was born. In fact\, Give to the Max was one of the nation’s first online giving days and now serves as a national model for giving days across the country. In the years since\, nearly one million donors have given more than $355 million to 14\,000 nonprofits and schools as part of Minnesota’s giving holiday. \nThis Give to the Max Day\, your gift brings comfort and support to familieslike Lloyd and Linda Stoll of Glyndon\, MN. When Linda’s illness progressed\, hospice care allowed her to stay home while giving Lloyd the support he needed to care for her. With guidance from HIA Hospice\, they experienced comfort\, dignity\, and peace during her final months. \nThanks to generous anonymous gifts\, all donations will be matched up to $2000 total! SUMMARY:16th Annual Ole's Ride
DESCRIPTION:The 16th Annual Ole’s Ride is taking place on Saturday\, August 23rd. This event serves as a tribute to Richard “Ole” Barten\, who lost his battle to cancer in February 2011. During his final months\, Ole received care from HIA Hospice. To express their gratitude\, Ole’s family initiated this event as a way to support and give back to HIA Hospice. With the tremendous support of participants\, Ole’s Ride has raised over $237\,000 for HIA Hospice. \nTo kick off the event\, pre-registration and a bike show will be held on Friday\, August 22nd\, from 6:30-8 p.m. at Billy’s Corner Bar in Vergas\, Minnesota. Registration will also be available on Saturday\, from 10:00-11:30 a.m. All registrations must be completed in person during these times. \nThe bike ride will start at 12 p.m.\, guiding riders through the scenic lakes country of Minnesota. \nThe cost to participate is $25 per bike\, with an additional rider able to join for $15. Registration includes a t-shirt\, a meal and opportunities to win door prizes at each stop along the route. After the ride\, there will be a silent auction and live music performed by The Fat Cats.
