HIA Palliative: Expanding Support is Hearts In Action
HIA House Calls is becoming HIA Palliative, a name that reflects the specialized support we provide for those living with serious illness. While our name is evolving, the compassionate care you trust remains the same. Working alongside your existing treatments, our team collaborates with your current providers, focusing on comfort, relief and quality of life, wherever you call home. At HIA Palliative, ‘Hearts In Action’ means providing support that aligns with what matters most to you.
We’re Here to Stand Beside You
Palliative care does not take over. It enhances the care already in place.
Our team visits people where they live. Whether in a private home, assisted living or long-term care setting, we provide additional support while working closely with the care team already involved.
Together, we can make serious illness feel less overwhelming–reducing stress, helping avoid unnecessary hospital visits, and supporting comfort and quality of life every day.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why did HIA House Calls change its name?
We’re evolving into two clearly defined services—HIA Primary Care and HIA Palliative Care—to better reflect the care we provide and help patients understand which services best meet their needs through their care journey.
Is my care team changing?
Our care team has expanded with the addition of Dr. Lara Lunde. Some patients may transition to her care. You will be notified if your provider is changing.
Do I need to sign up again or take any action?
If you are already an existing palliative care patient at HIA House Calls, no action is needed. Your care will continue uninterrupted.
What’s the difference between Primary Care and Palliative Care?
Primary Care focuses on general health, chronic condition management, and preventive care. Palliative Care provides specialized support for serious illness, focusing on comfort, quality of life, and symptom management.
Can I receive both services?
By nature of our care philosophy as a member of the HIA Health family, HIA Primary Care patients do receive the benefit of palliative care. This holistic approach is fundamental to our care philosophy and just something that comes as part of our primary care. For those patients who currently have a primary care physician, but need added support of palliative care, we are able to provide this level of support, partnering with your current care team, and helping you live your best.
Will insurance coverage change?
No, services will continue to be billed as before. If anything changes, we’ll communicate it clearly.
