Governor Armstrong Recognizes HIA Hospice During National Hospice & Palliative Care Month

State Proclamation Honors the Vital Role of Hospice Care in North Dakota

Fargo, N.D., November 1, 2025 – HIA Hospice, an HIA Health Family Member and North Dakota’s trusted nonprofit provider of hospice care for more than 40 years, is honored to receive an official state proclamation from Governor Kelly Armstrong recognizing November 2025 as Hospice & Palliative Care Month in North Dakota.

The proclamation acknowledges the vital role hospice plays in helping patients and families find comfort, dignity, and peace throughout life’s most meaningful moments. Governor Armstrong’s declaration highlights the compassionate, team-based approach hospice provides, uniting physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains and volunteers to ensure that every patient’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met.

At HIA Hospice, “Hearts In Action” means being there when every moment matters. Through personalized care and holistic support, the organization helps individuals remain where they feel most at home, whether that’s in their own home, in long-term care, or at HIA Heather’s House, North Dakota’s first freestanding hospice house.

“We’re deeply grateful to Governor Armstrong for recognizing the importance of hospice and palliative care in our communities,” said Tracee Capron, Executive Director of HIA Hospice. “This proclamation affirms what we see every day, the difference compassionate care makes for patients and their loved ones.”

Throughout November, HIA Hospice encourages North Dakotans to learn more about hospice and palliative care services, volunteer opportunities, and ways to support the mission that has touched thousands of lives across the region.
